About EGPD

It started with a simple idea: what if PhD students in geothermal energy could have a space entirely their own?

That idea became reality in February 2010 at the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam GFZ in Germany, launched as an initiative of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA). Since then, EGPD has grown into one of Europe's most anticipated annual gatherings for early career geothermal researchers — bringing together 50 to 80 young scientists every year, free of charge.

The mission has never changed: a space built by PhD candidates, for PhD candidates.
